Veggie Smoothie (that actually tastes good)

Veggie Smoothie (that actually tastes good)

I don't know about you, but some days I'm rushing around like a chicken with my head cut off and barely have time to sit down and eat. Making a quick smoothie totally stuffed full of everything I need to eat, has become my routine. I'm no nutrition expert, and I'm not claiming this smoothie to be low-calorie or anything, but for me it's a great source of veggies / fruit / protein / energy! If I sat down and ate all of these things separately, I'd be eating for hours. LOL. This eating routine is also super quick...I keep it all together in the fridge and freezer, throw it on the counter, dump it in the blender, push start, and we are done.

So here's my go-to. And keep in mind you should adjust this according to whatever your body needs or is craving that day! Sometimes I throw in different stuff, like beets, a different juice / milk, ice cream (gasp!), yogurt (for the kids...I hate it, not gonna lie), avocado, or whatever is in the fridge. Honestly a ripe banana in any smoothie can make the veggies almost unrecognizable! My kids love it too (Ella uses her cup with a straw, but Lola drinks smoothie from this squeeze pouch!)

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (I use like half a package, or I use frozen)
  • 3 big carrots
  • 1/4 c. blueberries
  • 2 Tb. chia seeds, click here to read why you need these (you can also use ground flax)
  • 3-4 strawberries (frozen or fresh)
  • a few pieces of frozen mango or peaches (optional)
  • orange juice + water (or apple juice, almond milk, etc.)
