Pumpkins at Half Moon Bay
Ah, so we finally made it to the pumpkin patch. I'm in love with the fact that pumpkins can be across the street from the beach. We spent the day with family, which was a blast.
As far as I'm concerned, pumpkin patches probably fall under the same category as visiting Santa, library class, trick-or-treating in mass crowds, big birthday parties, the zoo, the playground, and really anywhere that kids love to go (and Jeff and I do NOT!) Enough said. But of course our kiddos love it and that makes us happy so we laugh about it and just reward ourselves with some cute pictures and a visit to the brewery afterwards.
Thoughts / dialogue as we pulled into the first pumpkin patch (the one we quickly pulled right out of). It was total mayhem. Well, never thought we'd be doing THIS on a Saturday!! No Ella we can't buy a sheep!! Lola did you poop?! Do we have to wait in that line to ride a pony???!!! They will probably run out of pumpkins!!! Hey Kel should we just go straight to the brewery?? As talk begins of skipping this patch and moving on to the next one...major wailing from the backseat. But I wanted a pony riiiiiiiiiiide!
Thank heavens we did skip that one. We lucked out and went to a really beautiful little patch that my sister-in-law Brook knew about, which was so much more our style. Hay bales to climb on, a petting zoo, sunshine, tractors, and lots of pumpkins. The kids were so happy!! Ella quickly forgot about ponies after she started flying off the hay bales.
Happy pumpkin carving, friends!
